I wish i would have taken pictures of Connor on his first day of swimming. Just so you can see how night and day it was from the first day to the second day. But i'll try and paint a clear enough picture for you. The first day we dropped him off with his great swimming instructor, i mean she is really great, and he was a little hesitant to let us leave him. But we assured him we would be right on the other side of the glass where he could see us and we could see him. However, every time it was his turn to go he would scream and cry and kick and hold on to the bars of the fence with a death grip and start at us with this "how could you do this to me" look. (I tried really hard not to run in there and grab him). But she was good, she would get him everytime and make him do it.
The second day was a whole other story. At first he was kind of wary and stayed close to the edge. But by the end of the lesson he had dived in all the way under his head! (see video towards the bottom of this post).
Logan was a good support team for connor.
She even got him to put his head in the water. Which is something we use to fight with every time we gave him a bath!
He ended up loving swimming. And asking every day when it was time to go and was really bummed when our two weeks were over. Next summer we'll definitely do more.
And now when we go swimming instead of crying or sitting on the side he dives in and LOVES the water.
And now here's a bunch of short videos of some of his swimming lessons.
