Connor's First Birthday Bash

It's amazing how fast the first year goes by! When they are first born you think they will never get past the stage of not sleeping through the night, or be able to roll over, or crawl, or hold their own bottle...the list goes on. But then overnight they are doing all these things and that little helpless baby that once needed you all the time is an independent little boy. But enough of this sappy mommy's ramblings.

The day after Halloween we had Connor's first birthday party. His birthday is not until the 3rd but we wanted to have it when all the family from out of town could be there too. What a day! First of all, parties are a lot of work. Especially when you plan too much. Thank goodness for my mom and sister who came over early to help otherwise I would not have been ready in time. My mom helped a lot with the bear cake. Nicole did the decorations, which turned out great! And the food was oh so delicious. There was fried ravioli, hot wings (from Dominos that i tried to convince people i made myself), and really delicious pizza that Dan made. The white pizza and Greek pizza were especially good! So good, even Connor loved it!

Connor had a blast opening presents although we was more into playing with the paper and tissue paper. He especially liked his Elmo card that sang happy birthday, every time it played he danced with it. Cake time was much fun and messy! He was a little intimidated by it at first but soon dug in and found it very delicious. (Click on Cake time to view video)
What a fun but tiring day, especially for Connor.

Halloween 09

This was Connor's first Halloween this year, so we were very excited about dressing Connor up and going trick or treating. Especially considering that last Halloween i was 3 days overdue and too tired and fat to get up off the couch! :/ So this year we were so lucky to have Dan's brother Josh and his wife Sarah and their daughter Arissa down from Las Cruces. Friday night we carved pumpkins, which turned out pretty awesome. Especially the cat that Josh did. Connor thought they were icky and was a little afraid to touch them.
On Saturday we dressed up the little bear and headed over to Dan's parents where we met up with Josh, Sarah and Arissa and the Baldanados to go trick or treating. I think we went a little too early because most of the houses we went to were boo humbugs. :) Also it was a little cold but so much fun! After trick or treating we headed back to the Tammingas where we were fed a delicious meal by Don. Such a fun day to remember for years to come!
