Dan's 30!

So as of yesterday Dan is now into his 30's. He wasn't very excited about this but I assured him that our 30's is going to be our best decade yet! We get to watch our two adorable boys grow up into handsome young men, our house we'll be paid off and hopefully we'll be in our custom built home or at least building it, our van we'll be paid off, not to mention all the family vacations we'll have and the chances to bond as a family. Yup I think the 30's are going to be awesome (I'm just glad Dan gets into them 6 months before I do!) :)
Here are some pics from our special day:
We took Daddy on  a scavenger hunt for his treasure. Here Connor is pointing out that that is one fat cat!
One Fat Cat!
Trying to pull out the next clue.
And daddy found his treasure! (A box of graham crackers, grape soda and a homemade coupon book. He got his real b-day present a month ago, a very nice mountain bike) Shortly after this our dogs took of running and decided to run around the neighborhood until Daniel had to get in his truck and bring them back, what a great way to end our treasure hunt! :)
Connor enjoyed the green "french fries" we don't feel the need to tell him they're actually green beans. :)
Dan chose dinner: chicken parmesan, sesame green beans and garlic bread. And for dessert:
Tiramisu cheesecake.

Logan's Baptismal

So this past Sunday (Mother's Day) we had our sweet baby Logan baptized at our church. It's hard being a mom sometimes when I think of this crazy world and how my boys will grow. My prayer for them everyday is that God will guide them and that they will grow up to be caring and loving individuals, despite the world around them.

Opa Tamminga wrote and sang a song for Logan:

“Enough Love”
Original song for Logan’s baptism
May 8, 2011

Do we dare let love, oh let love…Lead our lives again
Do we dare let go; Have another child,
Let love lead

Can we let Hope, oh let hope…Invade our lives once again
Let it enter our soul, Invade our mind,
through another child?

Then we look into you eyes
We see that smile across you face
Our fears subside, they dissipate

In a flood of grace, a flood of grace.
Just when we thought our hearts were full, Couldn’t be more room
You put another song, another dance
in our hearts for you,

So bust out those baby clothes, Hold the pink, maybe next time
For now more sleepless nights, more dirty laundry,
Wouldn’t have it any other way

Cause’ we look into your eyes
We see the smile upon your face
And realize, we receive so much more
Then we could ever begin to give

What happens here, even though, You’re too young to understand
Although you are unaware, a wonder is taking place
Meet you family, receive the promise…you are God’s child today
Not based on what He sees, Based on only His faithfulness.

We want to thank you
For this child today
From our hearts, with love
In a flood of grace, a flood of grace

Afterwards we celebrated at our house with a barbecue. We are lucky to be surrounded by such loving friends and family!
