Halloween

This Halloween was so much fun! Connor is now at the age where he loved trick or treating. He loved seeing all the other kids in their costumes and he loved getting candy. He worked very hard on saying trick or treat and mostly said it while he was knocking on the door and then froze when there was an actual person to say it to. He also loved passing out candy to the trick or treaters that came to the door. What a fun night!

Zoo Fun with Cousins

There's nothing better than cousins. And Connor certainly loves his! So this past weekend we loaded up the minivan and met Dan's brother and wife and their girls for a fun trip to the zoo. The kids loved feeding the ducks, Connor even was brave enough to feed the ducks straight out of his hand! What a fun day!

Connor's 2nd Birthday

Yesterday was one of the most beautiful November days you could ask for! What a great day to have a birthday party. Despite the birthday boy had a pretty large shiner from a run-in with the coffee table (you should see the other guy!) Connor had a lot of fun and got lots of awesome presents that he continues to sneak out of bed to play with. And he had a blast running around with his buddies!

MiniVan and Aquarium

Yesterday we decided it was time to trade in the old beat up Xterra and join the minivan club. So we loaded up the Xterra for one last trip, picked up my sister, picked up a van (after a few hours-fyi, carmax rocks!), went to lunch at Outback Steakhouse then took a very tired and crabby Connor to the Aquarium/Botanical Gardens. Connor loves the Aquarium and quickly changed his attitude the minute we got there. It was a hot day but fun day and made all the better by a new car with A/C. We couldn't imagine how we had gone so long with out it! (5 years) Here are some pictures of our day and a few short videos of Connor interacting with the fishies! Enjoy:

Garden Update

It's been a while since I've mentioned my garden. The sad truth is that the only thing that made it was the zucchini and squash. Kind of sad but I really did put as much time into it as was needed. Maybe next year i'll try again but with not so much stuff! However the zucchini and squash have been abundant and huge! We've made lots of zucchini recipes. Check them out at my other blog: http://visionsofsugar-plums.blogspot.com/

Summer Projects

We've had a few projects we've been working on this summer. Dan has been building a canoe, which is a pretty big project and probably won't be done for a few months still. Here are some pics of that. I'm not sure what is what so if you have any questions you'll have to ask him!

4 Tammingas

A friend of mine mentioned that I might need to change my blog name to 4 Tammingas soon as we are expecting our second baby in March. We are all very excited and even though the first ultrasound proved to be wrong, i think i still need to know...besides they can't get it wrong twice, right?!

Colorado Adventures

Last week was Dan and I's 9 year Anniversary and we decided to head up to Colorado to go to the cabin in Silverton and to Ouray. Of course we took Connor and he LOVED the cabin. The minute we pulled up he was saying "WOW" and couldn't wait to get out of his car seat to explore, and explore he did! He loved traveling on his daddy's back and was constantly on the move. We also loved feeding the chipmunks, even though Connor was a little afraid and didn't like them to get too close.

The hotel we stayed at was right along side the beautiful rushing Uncompahgre River so it was quite a treat to listen to it while we slept. Connor especially loved climbing up on the super tall beds and watching cartoons.

Here are a few videos of our adventures:

Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary

After living in Gallup practically all our lives we figured it was about time to head down to Ramah, NM and check out the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. Not to mention our little Connor (who's name means the lover of hounds) has been practicing his wolf calls. It was quite a long drive out there, and a couple times we wondered if we drove to far, but there ended up being plenty of signs pointing the way. Our tour guide told us all about the wolves and where they came from, some happy stories, some very sad stories, but mostly stories of why wolves should not be pets. Also some very interesting wolf facts. Like did you know, wolves can't bark? Also, wolves have rounded ears where as dogs have pointy ears. Wolves paws are webbed and HUGE. And only wolves have the yellowish tint to their eyes. Ended up being a very fun day. If you are interested in checking out the refuge here is their website: http://www.wildspiritwolfsanctuary.org/

Almost all the wolves were interested in Connor and probably were thinking he'd make a lovely snack!

Garden Update

So our seeds have started sprouting! I'm planning on replanting them into bigger pots this weekend.

Zucchini and Squash, getting too big for their little pots.
Jalapenos and Bell Pepper, with some herbs in the background.

Tomatoes, looking a little weak, I'm hoping they make it!

My Little helper! :o)

We had quite the exciting Easter weekend. It contained 2 Easter egg hunts, a pre-Easter brunch, dyeing easter eggs, an Easter dinner, chocolate cake, an adorable little boy in the cutest Easter outfit ever, lots and lots of family, lots and lots of good food, and so much fun! To check out a video of Connor's easter egg hunt click here. Zoo & Aquarium

Today we took Connor to the Rio Grande Zoo and to the Botanical Gardens/Aquarium. Connor liked feeding the ducks and the birds, but was really more interested in the Aquarium. He couldn't get to the fish tanks fast enough. And when he did get to one he would push his way through the crowds and put his face up against the glass and say "wow". It was very cute. I think we may have a future marine biologist in our midst!
