Connor's First Day of Preschool

This past Monday was Connor's first day of preschool. (Prepreschool really). He goes to Roosevelt Elementary which is only a few blocks from our house so it's really nice having it so close.
Looking super cool in his new school clothes and Fedora.

I pretty much took pictures the whole walk over. I'm amazed we made it on time.

Getting tired of me taking pictures at this point.

Mrs. Hibbard showing Connor & Caleb where their bags go.

Connor went straight for the police hat.

Connor loves going to school with his best bud Caleb!

Had a blast at his first "day" of preschool!
Having our first annual "Back to School Roast Beast Feast". A tradition that's sure to stick around!

Logan loved the sweet potatoes!

 Connor's favorite: roast beast.

Connor Swimming Lessons

I wish i would have taken pictures of Connor on his first day of swimming. Just so you can see how night and day it was from the first day to the second day. But i'll try and paint a clear enough picture for you. The first day we dropped him off with his great swimming instructor, i mean she is really great, and he was a little hesitant to let us leave him. But we assured him we would be right on the other side of the glass where he could see us and we could see him. However, every time it was his turn to go he would scream and cry and kick and hold on to the bars of the fence with a death grip and start at us with this "how could you do this to me" look. (I tried really hard not to run in there and grab him). But she was good, she would get him everytime and make him do it.
The second day was a whole other story. At first he was kind of wary and stayed close to the edge. But by the end of the lesson he had dived in all the way under his head! (see video towards the bottom of this post).

Logan was a good support team for connor.

She even got him to put his head in the water. Which is something we use to fight with every time we gave him a bath!
He ended up loving swimming. And asking every day when it was time to go and was really bummed when our two weeks were over. Next summer we'll definitely  do more.
And now when we go swimming instead of crying or sitting on the side he dives in and LOVES the water.

And now here's a bunch of short videos of some of his swimming lessons.

Dan's 31st Birthday

For Dan's birthday this year we had my parents, his parents and our good pal Ben over for some good grub and dessert.

Dan's not to happy about aging. :)

To check out some of the recipes for what we ate:

Mother's day

This mother's day I was spoiled! Dan & Connor made me breakfast and we all (except poor Logan) ate it in bed. Dan made me Buttermilk waffles with Blackberry Mint syrup and sausage and eggs. Click here to check out the recipe!
It was really delicious and a bit of a sacrifice on Dan's part because he not only dislikes mint he absolutely hates sausage. Doesn't even like the smell, but he knows how much i love it. What a guy!

Poor little messy Logan had to eat in his high chair.

For lunch we met my parents and sister at Sizzler for lunch.
Logan is not very patient when it comes to waiting for food.

Baby Goats!

My parents have a neighbor that, in the Spring, had the cutest little baby goats. So of course we had to take the kids over there to check them out. They love to climb up and nibble your neck and ears and anything they can get a hold of really. Logan thought they were very intriguing. Connor wanted to watch them from outside of the fence. :)

Connor wouldn't leave Daddy's lap.
