Brotherly Love

A few cute videos of some cute brotherly love.
We couldn't figure out why Logan was laughing so much while the boys were eating dinner. Then we figured out that Connor was throwing little bits of beef at Logan to eat. Logan thought it was hilarious!

C is for...

So I've just decided with everything I have going on this year we are going to take 2 weeks to do a letter. So these past few weeks we worked on the letter C. Here's what we did:
 We sorted Candy by Colors.

Angry that I wouldn't let him eat the Candy yet. :)

Logan's 6 Months!

It's hard to believe our little Logan is now 6 months old! He has been an incredible joy to have in our lives and we are thankful each and every day (even the crabby ones) for him. Big brother, Connor, loves to play with him and show him new things. He is always excited when he walks into the room and spots Logan, it's like he forgot we had him or something! :)

Logan Facts:
  • Logan is 26 1/2 inches long (50th percentile)
  • Logan is 19 pounds! (80th percentile)
  • He can now get anywhere he pleases, pulls down books, cords, chews on EVERYTHING. Time to baby proof!
  • He can "crawl" but it's more inching (SEE VIDEO)
  • He smiles almost ALL the time, even when he's sad I can still get him to smile just by talking in a high voice.
  • He eats just about everything! He's even really good at picking up rice!
  • He can almost sit up without help.

Oh yeah, and he loves to show off his rolls! :)

B is for...

So this past 2 weeks we worked on the letter b. Due to sicknesses (mine and the boys) and a lot of things to do with the letter b, it took us a little longer than planned. But we had some fun and now Connor can recognize the letter A and B. :)
Here's what we did:

Every day we trace and practice writing Big Bs and Little b's
Here's Connor's B:
He was VERY excited about this B. And said "mommy, look at my B!" Personally I think it looks a little like pac-man. :)

B is for Butterflies, Bees and BUGS!
  • We made butterfly and Bee stick Puppets.

Even Logan joined in for some fun!

  • We read the book: Bugs, Bugs, Bugs by Bob Barner
  • We went on a bug hunt and collected a grasshopper, stink bug, and an ant.

  • We listened to sounds of different bugs on-line.
  • We painted a lady bug printout.
B is for Bears and Bunnies:

Connor came up with his own story to Goldilocks where she takes down all three Bears. :)
B is for Birthdays, Bubbles, & Balloons
Over the weekend we celebrated Connor's cousins birthdays.
And Oma's birthday by making her Blueberry Cupcakes!
We played with balloons.
We took bubble baths.
Read: Happy Birthday to you by Dr. Seuss, Bubble Trouble by Stephen Krensky, I'm Still Here in the Bathtub by Alan Katz.

B is for all the things i wanted to do but didn't quite get a chance:
Make Bead Necklaces
Make Hanging birds
Ride bicycles
Build towers with Blocks
Play Baseball

Food:
Made Blueberry Banana Bread & Blueberry Cupcakes
Made butternut squash puree for Logan
Ate: BLT's, Burgers, Bananas, Blueberries, Brownies, Bacon, Banana Pancakes, Broccoli,

Movies:

Other Books & Subjects:
Bats: Stellaluna by Janell Cannon
Birds: Bird, Bird, Bird A chirping Chant by April Pulley Sayre
Brother: I'm a big Brother by Joanna Cole
Baseball: Curious George at the Baseball Game by Laura Driscoll

Colors: black, blue, brown

So, as you can see we had a LOT of fun with the letter B. Connor especially loved going on a bug hunt, in fact the first bug he came across was a wasp. He wanted to catch it but I told him no flying bugs. And he was so proud of his bug house that we had to take it over to Oma and Opa's house to show them off. He also really loved the story of Goldilocks and the three bears and recreating the story. What a fun and special time Connor and I (and Logan too) had together learning about the letter B!
